It all started in…

San Luis Obispo as Amy was born and raised in SLO. Amy has worked with families as a nanny starting at the age of 17 where her love for children began. She then worked at Country Day Preschool, ran by Mary Renzi-Cowitz, where her inspiration to teaching began. Amy attended Cuesta College while working at Country Day Preschool, then transferred to UC Davis, where she majored in Chemistry. After one year at Davis, she returned to finish her BS in Chemistry at Cal Poly, SLO. From there Amy moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she was a nanny and going to school to get her Teaching Credential at San Francisco State University. It was a dear friend that encouraged her to follow her dreams and open a preschool in SLO. Here we are now starting our 19th year of Town and Country Day Preschool.

Amy is joined by Her Husband, best friend, and business partner AndY…

Andy is the epitome of warmth, care, and goofiness bundled into one fantastic preschool teacher. With his contagious smile and playful demeanor, he effortlessly creates an environment where laughter and learning intertwine seamlessly. Beyond the fun, games, and silly voices during Circle Time stories, Andy is a pillar of support and compassion. He listens intently to stories, wipes away tears with a gentle touch, and celebrates even the smallest victories with boundless joy. For Andy every day is an opportunity for laughter, love, and learning, leaving a lasting impression on the hearts and minds of his students as they embark on their educational voyage.
